Supreme court and RBI on making the list of defaulters public

Sharing the names of large bank loan defaulters: Need of the hour. RBI argued the case of big defaulters in Supreme Court and put forward two pronged arguments to prevent making the names of big defaulters’ public: 1    There is more and more decentralization of the functions of the central bank and therefore it was a "herculean task" for it to get data from all banks. This should not be the reason for preventing the disclosure of names of these big defaulters, for two reasons: a.     All this data is regularly available with RBI as part of various reporting systems from banks b.     Banks themselves may me made mandatory to publish, at least their top defaulters names, as part of their financials. This can include top NPAs / SMAs above a cut off amount.       RBI is claiming confidentiality. If it is some law coming in the way of disclosure of such vital information needed, the law needs to be amended in the p...

Birthday thought

Yes, Today I am celebrating my birthday. 54 years of roller coaster ride. I received numerous messages of wishes from friends and am very happy that lot of people love me and following message from a team I had never interacted before, kindled my thought. “May God Gives you a long, healthy and self-satisfying life ahead. May all your unfulfilled desires come true on your special day. Wishing you a very glassful and joyous Birthday.” Beautiful, meaningful, thought provoking message.  I was just pondering. I have completed 54 years. How I have spent the time? There were sweet memories, bitter feelings, success, Failure, love, hatred, anger, peace, abundance, poverty, cursing, and prayer. But all that is the matter of the past and today none of that is my part. Everything has passed on. There was a time of lacs and lacs of earning in markets, but shared nothing with others. There was a time; I had no means to buy a bun, no bus fare for commuting to office.  ...

Spirituality for leading a Happy Life

Spirituality  for happy life Yesterday I was travelling with one of my learned lawyer friends and we were discussing the legal system of the country. Generally it is believed that legal system in the country is honest and just by at least by villagers. However, truth is not so. No section of society, including the judiciary, has remained ring- fenced from corruption, favoritism, terrorizing etc., this cannot be because all these systems are manned by human beings, whose basic nature has become greed. It is said animals will kill other animals for food only when they are hungry. But human being kills for no reason or for any reason, thus worse than the animals. That is greed and greed can never be satisfied. Today if you look around, there is tremendous amount of stress everywhere. Some People are chasing material well being, wealth, position. Some of them are constrained by ethical boundaries created around their thinking by their own mind. Whereas some of them have no va...

labelling RED/BROWN/GREEN on the packets of cosmetics and toiletries based on presence of non vegetarian ingredients

Consumer affairs department of Government of India under Ms. Maneka Gandhi has moved to make labelling RED/BROWN/Green on the packets of cosmetics and toiletries . -   It is very welcome move from consumers affair minister. In an era of transparent world and consumer awareness , the ingredients used if contains animal parts, it must be known to the consumer, else we are forced to use non vegetarian origin item which is against by ethical and religious belief. My right for information as a consumer and also my right for religious practice is in danger. Further , sad part is that under legal system , it is questioned on the technical ground as to which department has the right to introduce this system and not on the merits of the issue. Our legal system should change to avoid various serious issues being struck down on technical grounds without taking into account spirit of law as above all technicalities. at least RED for products with non veg component, BROWN with milk products ...

welcome judgement by Hon. Supreme Court of India on applicability of RTI to Banks and Banking regulator

Dear Friends, It is really very heartening to note  the observations of Hon. Supreme Court with regard to the secrecy being maintained by banks and regulator on the defaulting  and Fraudulent borrowers. Today Banks are in a very bad shape the basic reason is this secrecy  around the massive misuse /looting of public money by corporate/banker connivance or corporates bullying poor bank officials . Why public should not know the names of those who have taken the public money for running their business ? Good or Bad , let public be aware. Same way NPAs , Bad debts , write off all this should be available in the public domain. Banks must be mandated to disclose the same. If some customers have not collected the money and is lying in inoperative accounts /unclaimed , banks are required to publish full details in the web site and also they cannot use these funds and pay if claim comes. Government wants to enjoy that money in the name of customer prote...

Enjoying what ever we have not not worrying about gen Y is way tom happiness

Dear Friends, A friend of mine forwarded this message. I felt like sharing. Are we earning to pay builders and interior designers, caterers and decorators?  Whom do we want to impress with our highly inflated house properties & fat weddings? Do you remember for more than two days what you ate at someone's marriage? Why are we working like dogs in our prime years of life? How many generations do we want to feed? Most of us have two kids. Many have a single kid. How much is the "need" and how much do we actually "want"?? Think about it. Would our next generation be incapable to earn, that we save so much for them!?! Can not we spare one and a half days a week for friends, family and self?? Do you spend even 5% of your monthly income for your self enjoyment? Usually...No. Why can't we enjoy simultaneously while we earn?   Spare time to enjoy before you have slipped discs and large prostates. We don't own properties, ...

Maturity

What is Maturity?   Definition provided by Buddhist Lamas...   Maturity is when you stop trying to change people, and instead focus on changing yourself. Maturity is when you accept people for who they are. Maturity is when you understand that everyone is right in their own perspective. Maturity is when you learn to "let go". Maturity is when you are able to drop "expectations" from a relationship and give for the sake of giving. Maturity is when you understand that whatever you do, you do for your own peace. Maturity is when you stop proving to the world how intelligent you are. Maturity is when you focus on positives in people. Maturity is when you do not seek approval from others. Maturity is when you stop comparing yourself with others. Maturity is when you are at peace with yourself. Maturity is when you can differentiate between "need" and "want, and you can let go of your wants. Maturity is when...
